Rev. W.I. Smith
Rev. Wayne Smith felt his call into the ministry while praying underneath the bleachers at the United Pentecostal Church International’s General Conference held in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1974.
He began a work, founding the Lighthouse and pastoring in Silver Grove, Kentucky, on May 8th of 1981. The Church grew and eventually had to move to Dayton, Kentucky. After many years in service to Dayton, The Dayton Gospel Lighthouse Church moved to Bellevue, Kentucky in January of 2002 and became The Apostolic Pentecostal Lighthouse. In 2007, the church changed it’s name to Lighthouse Ministries to reflect that we are more than just a church fellowship, but a group dedicated to serving the people through our various ministries.
Rev. Wayne Smith and his lovely wife, Joyce, have four lovely children. Three boys Jeremy, Steve and Jonathan, and one darling girl Hannah. He is also fondly called Pappaw by his many grandchildren.
On March 15, 2015, Rev. & Sis Smith resigned as pastors of the Lighthouse after 34 years of pastoral service to focus on family and other areas of ministry.
Rev. Wayne Smith is an Ordained Minister with the United Pentecostal Church International as well as the Prison Chaplin for the Kentucky District United Pentecostal Church.
