Pastor Smith felt his call into the
ministry while praying
underneath the bleachers at the United Pentecostal Church
International's General Conference held in Louisville, Ky in 1974.
He
began a work, founding the Lighthouse and pastoring in Silver Grove,
Kentucky, in May of 1981. The Church grew and eventually had to move to
Dayton, Kentucky. After many years in service to Dayton, The Dayton
Gospel Lighthouse Church moved to Bellevue, Kentucky in January of 2001
and became The Apostolic Pentecostal Lighthouse. In 2007, the church
changed it's name to Lighthouse Ministries to reflect that we
are more than just a church fellowship, but a group dedicated to
serving the people through our various ministries.
The Lighthouse extents
it's outreach to the majority of Campbell County, Kentucky, including
cities such as Dayton, Bellevue, Newport, Southgate, and Silver
Grove.
Reverend
Smith and his lovely wife, Joyce, have four lovely children. Three boys
Jeremy, Steve and Jonathan, and one darling girl Hannah. He
is also
fondly called Pappaw by his many grandchildren.
Pastor Smith is a licensed minister
with the United Pentecostal Church International.
Welcome Note From The Pastor
:
Dear Friends,
Here at the Lighthouse we have a basic goal: to serve our Savior, Jesus
Christ well. We must serve our community and our world. This is our
purpose. We have prepared this website so that you might better
understand us and that we might better serve your needs and the needs
of our community.
So,
whether you're a visitor at our church, or a friend has given you this
web address, we hope you will consider our church as a place where you
can experience Jesus Christ through worship, prayer, preaching, and
fellowship.
We Care,
Pastor W.I. Smith
