Reverend Travis "Trey" Precht
At
the beginning of the ninth grade one of my best friends invited me to a
little white church on a one-way street to hear him preach. I
tentatively accepted the invitation wanting to see what could change my
friend from being the type of person we both were to being a preacher.
After that service I knew that there was something about
this church
that I needed to discover more about, so I continued to
visit.
Early
the next year, near the end of 9th grade, at the age of fourteen years
old, I made the best choice he could ever make. On February 26, 1997, I
felt God pulling at my heart and through godly sorrow I repented of all
my sins and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission
or removal of those sins. That night I spoke in tongues as the Spirit
gave the utterance, showing that I has received the wonderful gift of
the Holy Ghost.
Some time later I felt a tug in
my heart
about servanthood and the ministry. I began to serve the church in any
manner that our Pastor would ask of me. First it started out in working
as a helper in the bus ministry. It would slowly continue on to reading
opening scriptures, leading song service, substitute Sunday school
teaching, media ministries, jail & hospital visiting, outreach
team, sign language ministry, home bible studies and eventually I was
blessed and accepted the call to the pulpit ministry.
On
December 6, 2004, the Lord blessed me by allowing me to marry the most
wonderful woman in the Body of Christ, my sweetheart, Roxanna Jean.
Currently we both are serving faithfully at our local church Lighthouse
Ministries in Bellevue, Kentucky, under the ministry of Pastor Wayne I.
Smith.
A
licensed minister from
Kentucky. His home is located in Newport where he
spends his time
when not traveling with family. He is currently serving the
Lighthouse as Bus Captain for the Newport Route of the Bus Ministry and
Youth Pastor of the Preteen Youth Group.
